Guide and Strategy | Rikimaru the Stealth Assassin
Morning tavern, bottom left. His location, what do you mean what. 1.Foreword Hey there. This is Me, editing my guide for the first time after all this time. Yep, I got my lazy ass to work. You can say that I completely rewrote it, since it looks much nicer now (does it?). On topic now. Rikimaru is one of my favorite heroes because he reminds to me to one guy from Tenchu game. That guy from game is ninja, has “Stealth Assassin” status and his name is Rikimaru. Fluke, don`t you think? And BTW, I want to teach people how to play Rikimaru in games where other people get true sight and want to kill you. I know that everyone can play Rikimaru in pubs, but don`t worry, one section of guide is dedicated for pubs. 2.Something about hero Range: 125 (Melee) 3.What is good about him and what is not so good about him Good : Low mana dependence. Bad : Invisibility very easily countered. 4.His abilites Smoke Screen Throws a smoke bomb down in the area, silencing opponents and causing them to miss on most of their attacks. Also slows by 25% at all levels. Level 1 - 250 AoE, 40% miss. Level 1: 75 mana, 15 sec cooldown. Blink Strike Teleports to a unit and strikes it if it is a foe, dealing bonus damage. Level 1 - deals 30 extra damage. Level 1 - 50 mana, 30 sec cooldown. Backstab The Stealth Assassin is not afraid to fight dirty, and specializes in attacking his opponents from behind. Level 1- Deals .25x the Agility of Rikimaru to the target. Permanent Invisibility Rikimaru becomes permanently invisible when not attacking. Level 1 - 3 second fade time.
1.Suggested skill build Smoke Screen 2.Few words about skill build Well, this should be one`n`only build for Rikimaru, but it isn`t. Some people max out Smoke Screen first, but I don`t. I don`t do it because I always have mana problems if I wanna use Blink also. Settled that. But, some people want to max Backstab first. I don`t understand why they do that. They say that it helps them with harrasing and last-hitting. I tried that bud it didn`t help me a lot. I was against Rhasta and Bane, and I followed that strategy to get behind them and start whacking, but NO! I died! My point? All other builds suck. Follow my build, the power of blink strike. It helps you with catching up, you can use to last hit if you are laning tough guys etc…Hope you got what I wanted to say. 3.Recommended items (Yes, another one.) (Yes, another one.) 4.Few words why to take these funny items Because when you play against pro players you won`t be able to pawn hard. If you get Rikimaru after repicking or stuff like that, you can`t expect to own with mass wraiths. All you can do is support, hope to get kills and SURVIVE. Yes, survive. This builds helps you survive. Don`t know why? Manta is only counter to invisibility counters (as far as I know). When they silence you (Drow Ranger, Death Prophet, Silencer) you are revealed, but just use Manta. When Bounty Hunter or Slitheeren Guard use ultimate on you, you don`t know what to do? Use Manta. True Sight and some spells are counter to your ultimate, but illusions from Manta are counter to True Sight and these spells. Now about these 3 Yashas. Yes, I know what are you thinking. Well I don`t know exactly, but I know that you think it is stupid. 5.”B” build 6.Few words about “B” build You should use this in pub games. It is simple build. Speed and damage. Boosts your DPS pretty well. Gives you nice speed and toughness. Personally, I love this build but it is not very helpful if you are playing high level game. After you complete all these items, get either extra agility or Radiance. Heart of T is not bad. Do what you want, game will be over soon. 7.Bad items (for first build) Desolator/ Buriza/ MKB/ Radiance/ Rapier - generally any pure damage item because they work bad with Manta. Linken’s Sphere - any other survival things are overkill, well used Manta is very enough. Midas/ Battlefury/ Maelstrom - any thing that helps you farm, don`t get it because you will DELAY Manta.
1.Gameplay baby If you are playing pub game, go solo. My personal choice is bottom for sentinel, top for scourge. Anything works fine, just don`t go mid. Your main goal early game is to farm and survive. Nothing more. Don`t get too sad if you don`t make some obvious kills and stuff like that. Just last-hit well and don`t bother with harassing too much. If you`re getting harassed, just bait enemy, wait for him to do something stupid then go chop`n`blink and hope for the kill. If you don`t get kill, don`t cry. At least you sent him back to fountain. If you`ve done well early, and farmed for something BUT you can still stay and farm, stay. You don`t know will you have chance later. This is very important for all Rikimaru players : Even if you get all items you needed, don`t stop last-hitting. You can never have enough gold. 2.How to use skills Smoke Screen: I love this thing. Really. It is so versatile. You can use it to harass early game if you have a lot mana. It will be very unpleasant for enemy because : if he fights you in smoke, you dominate of course, if he tries to fall back he is slowed for 25% which means that you chop him from back. But if you chase Centaur out of the smoke, he will just say : “damn smoker” ( xD ) and will kill you. You can also use this thing to destroy Treants`s eyes. I just love the feeling when I drop amount of blue cloud on his nature. Just like what men do to nature today. You can use Smoke Screen for defending pushes. Just use it in front of your tower, and it will live longer because enemy will miss it. You can also use spell for farming neutral creeps. Just go there, drop it and chop them to death. You can also use Smoke Screen as part of combos. For example, with CM, you smoke around her, she uses ult and stuff like that. Blink Strike: Use it to chase and escape. When enemy is running, blink on him and kill motherf**ker. If motherf**ker is chasing you, use blink on your creeps or ally hero to escape. Use it to last hit if you can`t do it normally. For example, you are against Bane and his boyfriend Rhasta in lane. They want to kill you if you approach to creeps. Don`t worry, use blink on creeps to earn some money. Backstab: Very easy to use if you have ultimate. Just get behind and attack. Use it to kill creeps easier. Invisibilty: What the h*ll should I write here. Well, know that AoE spells still damage you. Here is a list of what reveals Riki: Who knows, maybe there some more, but I was too lazy to search more. Best Allies: Disablers like Bane, Rhasta, CM, Treant…They disable enemy, you just get behind them and start whacking. Worst enemies: Tanks and heroes with true sight ability. Some random stuff: This is picture of Rikimaru from Tenchu. He looks pretty cool.

Gem of True Sight750 GC
Shop : Cache/Gateway
Description : A crystal that grants the hero true sight, which reveals nearby invisible units. However if the hero dies, Gem is dropped.
3 Yashas are taken because of agility boost. You know that when you get 1 point of agility, you get 2 points of damage (because of backstab). That is 1 thing why to take Yashas. Second thing is that they also give agility to your illusions, which means damage, armor and attack speed. Hope you are satisfied, because if you are not, you can check “B” build.
Note about Gem. They will try to counter your ultimate with wards. That is why you carry Gem, to destroy them, and it is also very useful if enemy team has Techies or someone with invisible something.
