Aggron Stonebreaker the Ogre Magi Guide and Strategy

This guide should have been revamped long ago when Ogre was first buffed. The new build I think is more stable and is more support orientated and will be quite more efficient against decent players. Let take turns to Ogre Magi: Brought up in men’s community Aggron developed not just two heads but two co*ks as well which ensured his prosperity amoug these “tender” people and became theirTrans Queen and was sended in the battle to spread their teachings. Ogre Magi is a hero that will crush through your dreams and ambitions about playing DotA. As long as someone can press the shortcuts “F” (*ck) and “G” (*y) and target you it is possible that he owns you no matter of your skill , age or experience. Some depressing history. In the 5.xx version Ogre used to have Lightning Shield instead of Ignite, which was good but you could not target yourself. Fireblast dealed more damage 275 a cast and Bloodlust used to give a better movespeed buff. The most horrible thing about that Ogre was his Multicast. It gave +1, +2, +3 cast per level increased Fireblast mana cost to 275 and that of Bloodlust to 175 and Lightning Shield to 160. You will say that it sucks?Hang on.There was no chance if it to happen…….It always happened! Shocked? Sure……Yes, a big frozen frog smashed Ogre disturbing his mental activities resulting in forgeting how to multicast everytime and forcing him to throw burning bottles full of ale instead of casting Lightning Shield….. About Ogre Queen: Ogre Magi is the most frustrating hero in DotA, since his efficiency is based on luck and crappy chance. The lack of solid spell potency makes many people repick whenever they see the two blue g*ys.Ogre has a unique role in DotA - he is killer and support hybrid, but as you will see it is all about patience…… Strength gain per level buffed to 3.20 up from 2.75. Here are the skills: Skills Blasts an enemy unit with a wave of fire. Deals intense damage and stuns for 1.5 seconds. Level 1 - Deals 75 damage. Steel cookies are helpless against this spell combined with Multicast. Choose a target you want to depress for lifetime and press “F”. Mana cost is 215 after you max out Multicast and cooldown is small……Get it at levels 1,3,5 and 7. Drenches a target in volatile chemicals, causing it to burst into flames. The target is in immense pain, taking damage and move more slowly. Level 1 - 10 damage/sec; 10% slow. A really powerful AOE skill, good both for harrasing, chasing and farming.Do not light up the alcohol, drink it!……Get it at levels 2,4,8 and 9. Incites a frenzy in a friendly unit, increasing its movement speed and attack speed. Level 1 - Increases attack speed by 20% and movement speed by 6%. Another haxxor spell from Ogre, a free Hyperstone and and a movespeed buff better than Sange and Yasha for 75 mana - wtf, nerf, plz, thanks! Combinations with this skill can be terrifying - from Sven with God’s Strenght to Magnus with Empower or Brood with Insatiable Hunger……Get it at levels 10,12,13 and 14 or at levels 17,18,19 and 20 it depends on you. Enables the Ogre Magi to rapidly cast his spells, giving them greater potency. Gives a chance to cast a spell multiple times in one cast. Ths skill makes Ogre gain the skill Presence of Gay Lord reducing enemies’ courage to null and makes noobs and experienced players equal……in grave. Gives massive improvements to all Ogre skills - additional cast for Fireblast and Bloodlust and AOE efect to Ignite……Get it at levels 6,11 and 16. Build Justification Skill Build Level 1 - Fireblast This skill build is modifiable, you can change some things if you want. You may not get Multicast at level 6 and leave it for level 9. You can take Bloodlust at level 10, 12, 13 and 14 or leave it for level 17,18,19 and 20. At level 7 with Multicast the mana cost of Fireblast is 135 and the mana cost of Ignite is 95 so 270 + 95 = 365, the mana pool of Ogre is 364 at that level. Ignite lasts 7.5 seconds and when you multiply this time by Ogre’s initial mana regeneration you will get 7.56 - which is enough to fire off 2 x Fireblast(with a chance to Multicast) + Ignite. At level 7 without Multicast the mana cost of Fireblast is 105 and the mana cost of Ignite is 105(you get a level of Ignite at level 6 instead of Multicast). 210+105 = 315, the mana pool of Ogre is 364, so you get an excessive amount of mana that is 39 - which does not have any practical appliaction, since you will not regenerate your mana to 105 to fire off Fireblast…. So you will better spent all your mana than to stay with 39 useless mana. + When you get the Multicast build you have a chance to deal more damage(which is deadly in most of the cases) and if you do not the difference in damage between the two skill builds is 7.5 x 10 - Yx7.5 where Y is the HP regeneration of the target. Assuming that most heroes get Ring of Regeneration at start and combined with the initial HP regeneration you will get around 40 damage more(if Multicast does not occur in the other build if it does the damage here will add 220) with the non-multicast build which is hardly noticable compared to the possibility of getting another Fireblast. That is why getting Multicast at level 6 is better. Item Build Well, this is my build: Let’s look on them one by one ( in the order we get them ) Empty Bottle Bottle has slowly become the top item for ganger heroes and rune users. Since Ogre is a ganger hero and Aggron CookieBreaker will greatly benefit from the charges of the bottle that will allow to execute your combo twice early game at the cost of only two charges. Since you will be ganging anyway on your way to a certain lanes you can check the runes and refill the bottle. Why not Arcane Ring instead of Empty Bottle? Well, it is simple. First of all Bottle replenishes not only mana but HP also. Second it costs only 700 which is around half the price of Arcane Ring. Third, you will not really be spamming your spells early so you will not need this item that much as for example heroes like Omniknight or Zeus. Also, Bottle is easily refilled with runes around which you will go anyway since you will be ganging most of the time. Also, Bottle can provide thrice as much as Arcane Ring if you need it immediatelly, giving you 300 mana the moment you need them. The heal will be useful when you are chased, after a team battle or after a gang…… Guinsoo’s Scythe of Vyse The recent buffs to stats has made Aggron exceptionally good for using Guinsoo’s Scythe of Vyse with him. Ogre kills slowly - with constant spam of his spells , waiting for Multicast to trigger which means a kill in most cases. Eul will solve ALL your mana problems once you get it and Cyclone will be useful in team battle, gangs, soloing heroes and escaping. Later when you get Guinsoo’s Scythe of Vyse you will become a strong killer/support with your active spells. Fireblast, Hex, Fireblast disables a hero for 6(!) seconds if Multicast does not trigger. Fireblast, Ignite, Bloodlust and Cyclone make you one of the most efficient gangers in the game. Most of the heroes will not be able to survive this combo if a Multicasted Fireblast appears. With Boots of Travel, Bloodlust, Ignite, Hex and Fireblast you will become one of the best chasers/hero killers and you will dominate most of the heroes 1v1 and still be very useful in team battles with all your skills. Boots of Travel Boots of Travel has many uses and taht is why it is considered a must for almost every hero (except for Furion). This item is great because it allows you to push/farm/support easily and combined with Bloodlust it is hardly possible that you outrun everyone, which makes you not so depended on Ignite. Aghanim Scepter A massive improvement to all your spells. This item gives one extra cast per Multicasted Fireblast/Bloodlust, bigger AOE for Ignite and really big increase in chance for Multicast(+10%). The bonuses to HP and Mana are nice and the intelligence buff is also good. I have tried Necronomicon build and it was not what I expected. It did not work that well, since you run out of mana pretty easy and you do not have mana regeneration to spam it so you have to rely on one Multicast and if it does not happend the enemy will just stun you and run. Yes early game you will kill a lot, but mid game when you get Bloodlust and you can catch everyone, Necronomicon spawns will be a not such a thread and the enemy can just fight you back. Why do you get Guinsoo’s Scythe of Vyse before Aghanim? Guinsoo’s Scythe of Vyse is better item than Aghanim if you play against some decent players, who know how to counter you efficiently: -Guinsoo is in times better for supporting spell spammage throughout the whole game, it gives you intelligence and a lot of mana regeneration which will allow you to use your spells more often. Aghanim just gives rough Mana Pool, intelligence and gives you no mana regeneration at all. -Believe it or not Guinsoo is better for hero killing than Aghanim. When your are using Aghanim the chances that the enemy stuns you / Teleports away after the first Fireblast are high because they know they can not run from you. On the other hand Guinsoo gives you enough time to kill the enemy before they he/she/it can react. Fireblast/Hit/Hex/Fireblast gives you 36% chance that you Multicast a Fireblast because you can try two times: Here is an example: Situation 1: Ogre never Multicasts With Aghanim - 275 Damage from Fireblast + Physical Damage for 1.5 seconds With Guinsoo - 275 Damage from Fireblast + Physical Damage for 1.5 seconds + Hex + Physical Damage for 3 seconds+ 275 Damage from Fireblast. Situation 2: Ogre Multicast one time: With Aghanim - 1375 Damage from Fireblast + Physical Damage for 2.1 seconds Note. When a Multicast appears it will stun for 2.1 seconds not for 7.5 seconds which is not enough increase for Fireblast to cooldown. With Guinsoo - 1100 Damage from Fireblast + Physical Damage for 2 seconds + Hex + Physical Damage for 3 seconds+ 275 Damage from Fireblast. Take in account that Guinsoo adds +60 Physical Damage (Direct +25 damage and damage from + 35 Intelligence) while Aghanim gives only +35 Damage ( damage from +35 Intelligence ) -Guinsoo is better for supporting allies early to mid game when Hex is really powerful. Aghanim’s +one cast per Multicast will be useful late game for pushing with Bloodlust and killing with Fireblast, but before that time Hex will dominate over the +1 cast per Multicast for Aghanim. It is obvious that Guinsoo is a better first item for Ogre. Then why do you get Aghanim at all? Although Aghanim shines mid game it is still a crucial item for Ogre late game. The bonuses to Multicast from Aghanim will help in hero killing a lot - 2 x 30% = 60% chance to Multicast a Fireblast which is dealy for the enemy in most cases but also take in accoutn that Aghanim also improves your pushing capabilities with Bloodlust a lot trough the increased chanc in Multicast and the additional cast that comes to a Multicased Bloodlust.
Armed with ugly sticks and cheap jewellery Aggron Cookiebreaker charges into battle It is important to know that Ogre is a support hero. Always pair up with another g*y. Mid is not your lane, take bottom/top. The choice of a hero to pair up with is important. I suggest two types of heroes to pair up with - heroes with high DPS early game and heroes that can help you with your mana poll. An example of the first group is Juggernaut - if someone can slow a hero and he uses Bladefury a kill is guaranteed and have in mind that you can stun also. An example of the second group is Keeper of the Light or Obsidian Destroyer. With their spells they can support you mana poll so you constantly spam in order to get a Multicast. This can be pretty deadly if you are lucky. My personal preference on start items is 4xTangoe (2 packs) + 5 Branches, but of course you can save your money for Empty Bottle. Do not auto attack since it will make you push faster, resutling in a gang. Take last hits instead and try to deny as much as possible Ogre Magi’s attack animation sucks like no other, really but now with the buffed base damage he does not fall in the category of the crappiest farmers. If there is a range hero that denies well, you may get outleveled and out denied, so try to harrass such hero with your ally. Do not Fireblast before you get one point of Multicast. Try to buy Empty Bottle around level 6 - level 7. Sometimes when an enemy hero tower dives you would better use Ignite instead of Fireblast - it stuns only for 1.5 seconds and Ignite slows for 7.5 seconds which means a that the enemy can neither chase you nor run out of the tower’s range unharmed ( even killed )/Start using Fireblast on the enemy and hope it mulicasts at a point. There is a golden rule early game: Never Fireblast if you do not have mana to fire off Ignite. OMG, Ogre shaves his legs, HELP! By level 14 you should farm your Boots of Speed, your Robe of the Magi and Staff of Wizardy . Now you should go ganging with your Empty Bottle. Before you go ganging try to fill your Empty Bottle with a rune so it can help you in the gang. You can put Observer Wards at rune spots so you can keep an eye on the runes. Use the charges of Empty Bottle whenever you need to. When you get a second point in Multicast you can go for a kill. Choosing a target is easy - it is always a low hp hero that cannot handle the fire hell - never Centaur( he is not sexy enough to face you and he has too much HP to kill him, unless you gang him with an ally)……Look for Rifle - he is a top pick (Thank you for ensuring the future of DotA Allfeed) or other low hp heroes like Drow, Troll, Venge, Silencer. Hide and wait for the hero to push then charge to him/her beginning with Fireblast. Immediately after you finished casting Fireblast, fire off Ignite and chase. As soon as the Fireblast is up, cast it - most of the low HP heroes will die from the second Fireblast. Some heroes like Juggernaut and Luna should not be chased withount the aid of your creeps because their ults are devastating when focused on the hero only ( Oh, Really?). Assist in gangs Blah, this orange stick is vibrating, SOS! By level 16 you should already have farmed your Eul’s Scepter of Divinity and you will be working on your Guinsoo. Mana is now not a problem since you have big boost in both mana poll and mana regeneration. Make sure you get Guinsoo before level 17. At that point you can kill every low hp hero from one deadly combo ( which comprises one Multicast) -Fireblast, Hit, Hex, Hit, Fireblast,HIt, Ignite,Hit, Hit, Fireblast .Guinsoo’s Scythe of Vyse’s hex gives a 3 seconds disable which is always useful for team battles and for soloing heroes. Cast Hex and Fireblast on the powerhouses in the enemy team in team battles. The most depressing part of the item build begins - ganging and chasing Stylish haxxor boots in? Game on. From level 17 on you will be support and killer in one. Get your Boots of Travel as soon as possible. They, combined with Bloodlust and Ignite, make you one of the best pushers and chasers in the game, so use this to cause pressure on the enemy team. Lonely heroes in lanes will not be seens as often as they were earlier in the game, but if you see one, call your allies for a gang and use your Boots of Travel to gang them when they feel safe. Use bloodlust on high dps allies to improve both their damage capability and give some extra ms. Use Bloodlust on creeps so you will push faster and Ignite to farm and wipe out pushes. In team battles, always cast Ignite in the very begining so every one is damaged and you can be sure it will be cooldown so you can use it again. Tank for your allies if needed, you can. Target low hp heroes and disablers and hope it will multicast, which in most cases ensures you a kill. Do not underestimate the power of Ignite, it is a powerful AOE spell, usefull for slowing, harrassing and farming. Two cast of Ignite clear off every push, they can slow a group of targets for a lot of time, which makes this spell very practical for every situation. I can not stress enough on the importance of Boots of Travel. In a way Boots of Travel hides a very good conception. It allows a single hero to farm peacefully and assist his team in ganging and team battles - that is why it is so great on every single hero. Next item Aghanim - it will give you all you need early game - it makes your spells a lot more powerful and increase the chance for a Multicastes spell to appear with 10%. With Bloodlust and Boots of Travel, you are almost uncatchable. Tp to lanes and cast Bloodlust on creeps to push and Ignite on the enemy creeps. Ogre is a really good pusher with his spells and Boots of Travel. Once you get them you will no longer need Ignite to hunt down a target, you are just faster than it. Remeber if the game gets longer farm Buriza and backdoor the throne, well Ogre is a Bonuses from Aghanim:
Aggron Stonebreaker, the Ogre Magi Number of times cast on multi cast As you see the improvements are massive and can be crucial for your game play, even in late game.

steal the kill and say “gj”. You are a force to reckon now, try to get as many kills as possible. Once you get Eul this task will be pretty much easier. Fireblast/Cyclone/Fireblast/Ignite/Fireblast is almost a flawless killing combo but keep in mind that Eul’s Cyclones are not just a tool for a solo kill. In team battle use Cyclone to disable the powerhouse heroes of the enemy team - Enigma, Bane, Rhasta, Crystal Maiden, Leshrac etc…… Ganging with Cyclone is also very efficient if you execute it well ( good coordination with your allies). Bloodlust can help a lot now. Always keep an eye on your mana pool and make sure you have enough mana to cast Fireblast or Ignite to finish off a target or to escape. Cast Bloodlust on your allies, they may need it more than you now. Some good target are Sven, Broodmother or Pandaren Brewmaster - they will make full use of both the IAS increase and the movespeed increase.
